Find the answer to what is an ISP.
An ISP or Internet Service Provider is a company that sells access to the
Internet to individuals and companies. Access can be through a dialup modem,
through a digital ISDN connection, or through broadband technologies such as
cable and xDSL.
Most ISP's will not allow you to host services such as
web hosting on your computer, and if
they do you can expect to pay premium prices for the
bandwidth you need. Web hosting and other
services can therefore better be outsourced to a suitable web hosting
company, either by the use of a shared hosting service, or by hiring a
dedicated server in their datacenter.
